Surfrider's Blue Water Task Force Water Quality Results 7.6.10

H2O Quality Results for July 6, 2010

Rincón, Puerto Rico, Friday, July 9, 2010 - The Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) is the Surfrider Foundation's water quality monitoring, education and advocacy program. It is utilized by our Chapters and members to alert citizens and officials in their communities about water quality problems and to work toward solutions.

Samples are collected every Tuesday and the results are now available online by clicking here Test results indicate the amount of bacteria colonies per 100 ml of water. Legally ‘safe' limits for these bacteria are very low- 35 viable bacteria per 100 ml of water in Puerto Rico, only 7 per 100 ml in Hawaii. The federal limit is 104 per 100 ml.
